Softball Recap: Woodgrove Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Woodgrove waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the John Champe Knights 15-3. Considering the Wolverines have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Woodgrove got a massive performance out of Abbey Davis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Davis has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Kaitlyn Kraus also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Woodgrove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as John Champe only posted an OBP of .400.

Woodgrove pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. As for John Champe, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodgrove will welcome Loudoun Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least ten runs in their last four contests. As for John Champe, they will host Broad Run at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
