The McConnellsburg Spartans will face off against the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with McConnellsburg sitting on 21 straight wins and Berlin Brothersvalley on three.
McConnellsburg is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 68-26 victory over Westinghouse. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

McConnellsburg's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Brayden Ramsey, who went 9-for-16 on his way to 24 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. That's the most steals Ramsey has posted since back in January of 2024. Hoyt Glenn was another key player, going 7-for-15 en route to 18 points and four steals.
McConnellsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley's contest on Wednesday was close up to the half, which is when they kicked things up a notch. They blew past Tussey Mountain 68-47.
McConnellsburg better focus on containing McKelvey Foor and Carson Janidlo as the pair were huge in Berlin Brothersvalley's win. Foor went 8-for-18 to rack up 20 points and three steals, while Janidlo almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine rebounds. Foor is becoming a predictor of Berlin Brothersvalley's success: when he posts at least 20 points the team is undefeated (and 7-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Haydon Hutzell, who had six points and five boards.
McConnellsburg pushed their record up to 22-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 33.4 points. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their victory bumped their record up to 10-11.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: McConnellsburg has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 32.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Berlin Brothersvalley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 28.2 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
