Baseball Recap: Lathrop Comes Up Short

Lathrop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 6-0 to the Edison Vikings. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Vikings apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Nazir Jones was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. Tommy Hammond also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Lathrop's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Edison, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-2-1.

While Lathrop had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
