Soccer Game Preview: Montgomery vs. Maria Carrillo

The Montgomery Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Maria Carrillo Pumas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Montgomery's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Thursday, Montgomery didn't have quite enough to beat Rancho Cotate and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Maria Carrillo managed to keep up with Cardinal Newman until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Maria Carrillo lost 3-0 to Cardinal Newman. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 275th, while the Cardinals are ranked 43rd).

Maria Carrillo has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5-5 record this season. As for Montgomery, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-6.
