Basketball Game Preview: Green Bulldogs vs. Washington Tigers

The Green Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Washington Tigers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Green is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Hiland just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 49-40 to the Hawks. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Bulldogs came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Hawks are ranked 64th).

Meanwhile, Washington entered their tilt with McKinley on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 79-36 win over the Bulldogs. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Washington pushed their record up to 19-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.4 points per game. As for Green, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-3.

Green couldn't quite finish off Washington in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 and fell 49-46. Can Green avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
