Volleyball Recap: Falls Lake Takes a Loss

Falls Lake lost against Triangle Math & Science back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Firebirds fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 3-2. The Firebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Falls Lake took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 21-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Forrest Boyles paced Falls Lake's offense, picking up 17 kills. Boyles got some help from Malachi Voss and his 32 assists. Finally, Samuel Phelps kept Falls Lake's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Falls Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Triangle Math & Science, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

Falls Lake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Riverside-Durham on the 1st. As for Triangle Math & Science, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against NCSSM: Durham on the 1st.
