Softball Recap: Archbishop Mcnicholas' Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

Archbishop McNicholas dropped their record down to 7-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Badin Rams, falling 10-3. The Rockets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rams from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Archbishop McNicholas saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Beiser, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Badin, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Rams, who have now won 12 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

On Badin's side, Kendall P. was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. P. was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one triple. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Tristin Lewis looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.

Back at the plate, Badin got a massive performance out of Emily O'Brien, who went 3-for-4 with three doubles and three RBI. Those three doubles gave O'Brien a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kira Rohan, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Coming up, Archbishop McNicholas will host Sycamore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rockets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Aviators have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. Badin will be paying especially close attention to Archbishop McNicholas' game: after Archbishop McNicholas faces off against Sycamore, they'll take on Badin again at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
