Greensburg came tearing into Saturday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the South Dearborn Knights. That's two games straight that the Pirates have won by just one run.

Ethan Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

In other batting news, Cy Miller was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Greensburg's victory bumped their record up to 12-2. As for South Dearborn, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greensburg will square off against East Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Dearborn, they will challenge Connersville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something the Knights will no doubt try to take advantage of.
