Softball Recap: West Mesquite Wranglers vs. Wilson Wildcats
After flying high against Adams last Friday, West Mesquite came back down to earth. The West Mesquite Wranglers lost 12-4 to the Wilson Wildcats on Monday. The Wranglers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Zoraida Barron made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Jaleah Robinson, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.
West Mesquite dropped their record down to 9-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Wilson, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Mesquite will challenge Spruce at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. West Mesquite is facing Spruce at the right time seeing as Spruce is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Wilson, they will face off against Samuell at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilson knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Samuell likes a good challenge.
