Basketball Recap: Pittsfield Piles Up the Points Against Holyoke

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Pittsfield on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Holyoke Purple Knights out of the water with a 56-26 final score. The Generals pushed the score to 45-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Purple Knights had little chance of recovering from.

Harolyn Castillo had a dynamite game for Pittsfield, going 7 for 9 on her way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyana Summers, who posted three points and six steals.

The victory (which was Pittsfield's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pittsfield will venture away from home to challenge Hoosac Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Holyoke, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on West Springfield at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th.
