Softball Preview: Wewahitchka Gators vs. Vernon Yellowjackets
The Wewahitchka Gators will head out on the road to square off against the Vernon Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games Wewahitchka has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Wewahitchka took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Blountstown, sneaking past 7-6. The victory was some much needed relief for the Gators as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Jayla Clayton and Eden Rustin did most of the damage at the plate: Clayton scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Rustin went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Clayton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Rustin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Vernon was a bit more limited in their contest on Tuesday. They came up short against Ponce De Leon, falling 11-1. The Yellowjackets haven't had much luck with the Pirates recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
