League recap: Brethren Christian tops Riverside Christian to extend winning streak

Brethren Christian added to the longest winning streak in Academy this week by beating Riverside Christian, 45-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Warriors.

Sage Hill scaled the state rankings by moving to 772 from 900 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lightning climbed the ranks as a result of besting Silver Valley 37-30.

Sage Hill's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robbie Rosoff threw for 143 and 2 touchdowns and Will Burns had 90 yards receiving. On the ground Beau Roth contributed 121 yards. Sam Masarik helped Sage Hill's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 80 yards.

Seth Baumann was a key player and the best on defense this week as Calvary Chapel lost to Fairmont Prep. The 6-foot-1 sophomore recorded 1 fumble.

Roth was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 121 yards on 27 carries as JR Tolver's team beat the Trojans. Teammate Logan Cook added to the ground attack by rushing for 12 yards.

An important game coming up in Academy this week will be when St. Margaret's takes on the Lightning. As it stands, the Tartans are in first, while Sage Hill is in third.

The league will see a high scoring game when Brethren Christian and the Grizzlies face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Pat McInally's team comes in having scored 32 this season, while Calvary Chapel has scored 43. The Warriors scored 45 points last week as they bested Riverside Christian.
