Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Mynderse Academy

Mynderse Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Penn Yan Academy Mustangs as they made off with a 25-3 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-3 on Tuesday.

The team relied heavily on Kyah Lajewski, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs, five RBI, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Mercedes Santana was another key player, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Mynderse Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Mynderse Academy's record is now 5-3. As for Penn Yan Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, Mynderse Academy will face off against Palmyra-Macedon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Penn Yan Academy, they will take on Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Mustangs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
