Soccer Recap: Alpena Takes a Loss

After flying high against Sault Area last Thursday, Alpena came back down to earth. The Wildcats lost 7-0 to the Petoskey Northmen on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Alpena can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Petoskey are ranked 57th).

Alpena's defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Petoskey, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5-1.

Alpena does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Petoskey, they will host Gaylord at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
