Baseball Recap: Midlothian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Midlothian extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping their season record up to 12-6 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Manchester Lancers. The game snapped a strange streak: the last four times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

As for Manchester, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs.

For Manchester's part, Maddox Caddell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Butts, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one RBI.

Midlothian and Manchester should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. The Trojans will face off against Huguenot at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday with a big rank advantage (45 vs. 352). Meanwhile, Manchester (ranked 138th) will meet Richmond High School for the Arts (ranked 374th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
