Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Jaguars vs. Pinole Valley Spartans

Bethel and Pinole Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2014, but not for long. The Bethel Jaguars will square off against the Pinole Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Bethel and four for Pinole Valley.

On Saturday, Bethel came up short against Windsor and fell 57-50.

Meanwhile, Pinole Valley had to suffer through a 80-42 loss at the hands of Acalanes. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 523rd, while the Dons are ranked 155th).

Pinole Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Bethel, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Bethel came up short against Pinole Valley in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 69-56. Thankfully for Bethel, Jordy McKenzie (who posted 32 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
