The Western Guilford Hornets will venture away from home to square off against the Southwest Guilford Cowboys at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Western Guilford is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 6.4 goals per game this season.

Western Guilford fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Grimsley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Whirlies by a score of 4-3. While losing is never fun, Western Guilford can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Grimsley are ranked 35th).

Abisai Carmona-Rosales and Carson Fragomeni scored all three of Western Guilford's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 94 goals.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Southwest Guilford made sure to put some goals up on the board against Ben L. Smith on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 7-2 margin over the Golden Eagles.

Western Guilford's loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5. As for Southwest Guilford, their win bumped their record up to 10-7-3.

Western Guilford took their victory against Southwest Guilford in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hornets since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
