Basketball Game Preview: St. Bernard Saints vs. Notre Dame Prep Lancers

The St. Bernard Saints will square off against the Notre Dame Prep Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

St. Bernard is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Connecticut's top teams: Fitch, who was ranked 20th at the time (St. Bernard was ranked second). Everything went St. Bernard's way against Fitch on Tuesday as St. Bernard made off with a 77-51 victory. The Saints pushed the score to 62-40 by the end of the third, a deficit the Falcons had little chance of recovering from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Notre Dame Prep). They blew past Masuk, posting an 81-48 win. The victory was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on 11 straight.

Notre Dame Prep's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.8 points per game. As for St. Bernard, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
