Soccer Game Preview: Sonora vs. Oakdale + How To Watch

The Sonora Wildcats will head out to take on the Oakdale Mustangs at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Sonora fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They blew past Argonaut 7-2 on Monday. The score was all tied up 2-2 at the break, but Sonora were the better team in the second half.

Their offense was hitting Argonaut from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Owen Bolter led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Oakdale). Their defense stepped up to hand Waterford a 2-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Oakdale in their matchups with Waterford: they've now won three in a row.

Sonora couldn't quite get it done against Oakdale when the teams last played back in December of 2024 as they fell 6-4. Can the Wildcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
