Softball Game Preview: Triad Cardinals vs. Greeneview Rams

The Triad Cardinals will head out to square off against the Greeneview Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Triad has now lost nine straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 22.

It was a proper cat-fight when Triad faced off against Fairbanks on Tuesday. The Cardinals lost 12-1 to the Panthers.

Meanwhile, Greeneview came up short against Cedarville on Tuesday, falling 11-3.

Mya Simpson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaycie Christian, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Triad's defeat dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Greeneview, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Triad couldn't quite get it done against Greeneview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 16-13. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
