Baseball Recap: Southeast Polk Takes a Loss

Southeast Polk was the 8-0 winner over Ankeny when they last played one another back in June, but their luck changed this time around. The Rams fell 6-3 to the Hawks on Tuesday.

Southeast Polk has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-15 record this season. As for Ankeny, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Polk will take on Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.6, the Tigers 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ankeny, they will challenge Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolves will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight.
