Baseball Recap: Sherburne-Earlville Takes a Loss

Sherburne-Earlville extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping their season record down to 1-6 in the process. They fell 10-5 to the Canastota Red Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Marauders of the 24-7 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Canastota, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-4. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Canastota's part, the team relied heavily on Devon Silvernail, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Silvernail has brought in this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Devon Faber, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Coming up, Sherburne-Earlville will square off against Waterville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Canastota, they will challenge Westmoreland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
