Softball Game Preview: Williamsport Wildcats vs. South Hagerstown Rebels

The Williamsport Wildcats will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the South Hagerstown Rebels at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

Williamsport fell victim to Boonsboro and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 22-0 to the Warriors. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Meanwhile, South Hagerstown hadn't done well against Clear Spring recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. South Hagerstown put the hurt on Clear Spring with a sharp 17-7 victory. The win continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Blazers: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ja'Seri Chapman, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Lottie Linton, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

South Hagerstown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
