Recap: Northern Lehigh Bulldogs vs. Palmerton Blue Bombers
The Northern Lehigh Bulldogs''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Palmerton, falling 47-13. Northern Lehigh was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.
Although Northern Lehigh took the loss, they still got scores from Kaden Quinones and Jack Tosh.
It was another big night for Matthew Machalik, who rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 58 yards and a touchdown. Machalik is on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in the last ten games he's played. Ty Sander was another key contributor, rushing for 39 yards and two touchdowns.
Northern Lehigh has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Palmerton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Northern Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palmerton will be playing in front of their home fans against Jim Thorpe at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jim Thorpe will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 320th, while Palmerton is ranked 110th).
