Baseball Recap: The Classical Academy Takes Down Delta in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Classical Academy walked away with it. They walked away with a 9-5 victory over the Delta Panthers on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Titans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The Classical Academy let CJ Mullen and Zach Mediavilla run wild. Mullen went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Mediavilla went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Awtry, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

The Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Delta, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-9.

The Classical Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 defeat against Resurrection Christian on the 24th. Delta does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
