Volleyball Recap: Heritage Makes It Three in a Row on the Road + How To Watch

After losing to Ponderosa the last time they met, Heritage decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Eagles walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mustangs on Tuesday.

Heritage had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-13.

Josephine Abeyta paced Heritage's offense, picking up 17 kills. Abeyta got some help from Maddy Davis and her 23 assists. Penelope Finch and Anneclaire Fieger kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Ponderosa's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kylie Paul, who had eight digs and three aces, and Brooklynn McClain, who had 20 digs and two assists. McClain has been hot, having posted 13 or more digs the last five times she's played. Merry Sung also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Heritage pushed their record up to 8-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Ponderosa, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.

Heritage has already played their next contest, a 3-2 defeat against Highlands Ranch on the 1st. As for Ponderosa, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Regis Jesuit on the 2nd.
