Recap: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Delta Eagles
The Centerville Bulldogs struggled with assists on Saturday (the Delta Eagles had 700% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Centerville was dealt a 67-31 loss at the hands of Delta. While losing is never fun, Centerville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while Delta is ranked 18th).
Centerville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Trevor Thornburg, who scored 8 points, and Nathan Dickenson who scored 4 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Delta to victory, but perhaps none more so than D'Amare Hood, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Hood has scored at least 25% of Delta's points. Jackson Wors was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 4 steals.
Centerville's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Delta, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Centerville will head out on the road to face off against Daleville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Daleville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Saturday. As for Delta, they will be playing at home against Yorktown at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
