Soccer Game Preview: Clarksville vs. Beckman

The Clarksville Indians will head out on the road to square off against the Beckman Trailblazers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Clarksville is headed into the contest without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Regina a 7-0 shutout on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what Clarksville needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beckman). They put the hurt on Monticello with a sharp 12-0 win on Monday. Given Beckman's advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Monticello are ranked 206th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beckman's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 34 goals over those four games. As for Clarksville, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0-1.

Clarksville took their win against Beckman in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
