Baseball Game Preview: Canyon Crest Academy Ravens vs. Bishop's Knights

The Canyon Crest Academy Ravens will take on the Bishop's Knights in a tournament on Wednesday. Bishop's took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Canyon Crest Academy, who comes in off a win.

Canyon Crest Academy proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by eight) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Mar Vista 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Ravens have posted since March 19, 2024.

Canyon Crest Academy got a great performance from Derek Yu as he pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. What's more, Yu posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Canyon Crest Academy's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cole Leshner, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Leshner a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Bishop's didn't have quite enough to beat Sweetwater on Saturday and fell 4-2. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop's also got a good showing from Clay Peckham, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

Bishop's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
