Basketball Recap: Canton Extends Home Winning Streak to Six

Canton had won five straight home games and Preston Brewer did his part to make it six on Friday. The Canton Tigers strolled past the Scotland County Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 73-57 thanks in part to Brewer, who went 9 of 16 en route to 23 points and seven boards. The matchup was his 19th in a row with at least ten points.

Another player making a difference was Bryce Baker, who posted nine points and five assists. Those five assists gave him a new career-high.

Canton's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Scotland County, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season.

Canton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-56 victory against Putnam County on the 4th. As for Scotland County, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Knox County at 7:30 p.m. on February 11th.
