Volleyball Recap: Tree of Life Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Jefferson on Monday, Tree of Life Christian came back down to earth. The Trojans fell just short of the Madison Christian Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in August.

Tree of Life Christian started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 20-25, 25-22, 25-20, 15-8.

When it comes to explaining why Tree of Life Christian lost, don't look at Megan Donnally. Despite the final result, she had 17 digs and two aces. Donnally is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Abby Sanders also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The defeat snapped Tree of Life Christian's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-8 record. As for Madison Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Tree of Life Christian is set to challenge their familiar foe Delaware Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Madison Christian will take on rival Shekinah Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
