Softball Recap: Monona Grove Takes a Loss

After flying high against Fort Atkinson on Thursday, Monona Grove came back down to earth. The Silver Eagles came up short against the Poynette Pumas on Saturday, falling 12-1. The contest marked the Silver Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Monona Grove saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Giovanina DaWalt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run.

Monona Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Poynette, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Monona Grove will host Beaver Dam at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Poynette, they will take on Pacelli at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Pumas surely won't give up without a fight.
