Softball Recap: Nine Straight Home Wins for Chilhowie

Chilhowie entered their tilt with Northwood on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-0 back in April.

Madi Preston was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lexi Williams, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Chilhowie's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Northwood, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chilhowie will challenge Patrick Henry at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northwood, they will take on Virginia High at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
