Basketball Preview: Athenian Owls vs. Bentley Phoenix
The Athenian Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bentley Phoenix at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
After a string of four wins, Athenian's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 57-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of International.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Evan Lucas, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Surya Devasenapathy, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Bentley was beaten by the Jayhawks 75-46 on Saturday. Bentley has struggled against the Jayhawks recently, as their match on Saturday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Athenian's defeat dropped their record down to 19-6. As for Bentley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-13.
Athenian strolled past the Phoenix in their previous matchup on Tuesday by a score of 64-45. Does Athenian have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Phoenix turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
