Basketball Game Preview: Welsh Greyhounds vs. Midland Rebels

The Welsh Greyhounds will head out on the road to face off against the Midland Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Welsh is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.

Last Saturday, Welsh came up short against Hackberry and fell 44-31.

Meanwhile, Midland escaped with a win on Tuesday against Hathaway by the margin of a single free throw, 45-44. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Hornets are ranked 106th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Midland has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Welsh, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Welsh suffered a grim 59-39 defeat to Midland when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Welsh avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
