The Credo Gryphon will face off against the Point Arena Pirates at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Credo has given up an average of 15 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Credo and Calistoga had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Gryphon came up short against the Wildcats on Friday, falling 25-7.
Zoe LaFleur made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Harper Malone was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Point Arena). Everything went their way against Technology on Friday as they made off with a 26-9 victory. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Pirates with their most commanding win of the season.
Point Arena got a massive performance out of Hattie Piper, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Piper has been hot recently, having also posted at least one triple the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Roach, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Point Arena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .723. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2024.
Point Arena's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Credo, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Credo has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .518. However, it's not like Point Arena struggles in that department as they've averaged .523. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
