Football Recap: Daphne Starts Season with Win on the Road + How To Watch

Daphne had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They pulled ahead with a 29-28 photo finish over the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets on Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but the Trojans were the better team in the second half.

Jaecyn Myles went supernova, rushing for 85 yards and three scores on only 11 carries, while also picking up 36 receiving yards.

McGill-Toolen's loss came despite strong showings from Jack Lenaghan and Blane Barre. Lenaghan picked up 150 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Barre threw for 210 yards and three TDs.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Daphne will square off against Pine Forest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for McGill-Toolen, they will take on Murphy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Yellowjackets their first taste of in-conference action this season.
