Softball Recap: Ider Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ider had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They blew past the Skyline Vikings 12-2. Considering the Hornets have won 23 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ider pushed their record up to 36-15-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Skyline, their loss dropped their record down to 14-33.

Looking ahead, Ider will challenge Waterloo at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Skyline, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Appalachian on the 8th.
