Football Recap: Franklin Lions vs. Rockdale Tigers
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Franklin). They really took it to the Rockdale Tigers for the full four quarters, racking up an 83-24 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 21 points or more this season.
Jayden Jackson was his usual excellent self, rushing for 220 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his tenth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Franklin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rockdale only rushed for 56.
Deandre Stephens and Greyson Williams certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Stephens picked up 168 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Williams threw for 252 yards and three touchdowns. Stephens showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 64 yards.
The victory (which was Franklin's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 42.8 points. As for Rockdale, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Franklin will face off against Hallettsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Franklin is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season. Rockdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
