Recap: West Feliciana Saints vs. Istrouma Indians
The West Feliciana Saints were the 53-27 winner over the Istrouma Indians when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. West Feliciana fell just short of Istrouma by a score of 66-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sanaya Berry, who scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Berry has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Arieonia Ebbs, who scored 20 points.
Eryn Brown continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Istrouma, dropping a double-double on 42 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it 24 consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Istrouma's points. Kay'Lee Shepherd was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
West Feliciana's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-12. As for Istrouma, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.
West Feliciana will be playing at home against St. Michael at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Istrouma, they will head out on the road to face off against McKinley at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Istrouma focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
