Baseball Recap: Archbishop Riordan Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Valley Christian, Archbishop Riordan was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Palo Alto Vikings by a score of 6-1. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Crusaders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Colton Parenti and Chase Oliver did most of the damage at the plate: Parenti scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Oliver scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. What's more, Parenti posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Dubriwny, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Archbishop Riordan's victory bumped their record up to 6-13-1. As for Palo Alto, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

Coming up, Archbishop Riordan will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Hillsdale at 4:00 p.m. The Fighting Knights will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Palo Alto, they will head out on the road to square off against Los Gatos at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
