Basketball Recap: Hollund Miller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ridgevue over Rocky Mountain

Ridgevue's game on Tuesday was all tied up 22-22 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They received a blow as they fell 60-45 to the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies. The Warhawks were probably out for revenge after losing 61-39 to them when the teams met back in December of 2016, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Ridgevue's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hollund Miller, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Miller has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was McKenna Durrant, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds.

Rocky Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mckenzie Bybee led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Bybee a new career-high in points. Makenna Giberson was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Ridgevue is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-7. As for Rocky Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ridgevue will host Capital at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ridgevue is facing Capital at the right time seeing as Capital is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Rocky Mountain has already played their next contest (against Mountain View), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
