Softball Recap: Franklinton Comes Up Short

If Franklinton was feeling good fresh off their 16-5 takedown of Nash Central last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Red Rams came up short against the Bunn Wildcats on Thursday, falling 16-1. The Red Rams haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Franklinton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenzie Williams, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Franklinton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Bunn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Franklinton will square off against rival Northern Nash at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bunn is set to take on their familiar foe Roanoke Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on the 15th. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Wildcats have won four straight at home, while the Yellowjackets won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
