Basketball Recap: Owen Valley Comes Up Short

Owen Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 46-38 to the Brown County Eagles. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Owen Valley still got an impressive performance from Jesse Durnil, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 17 points and five boards. The dominant performance gave Durnil a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhet Heckman, who posted six points.

Owen Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Brown County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Owen Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 37-34 win against Westville on the 14th. Brown County will take on Cloverdale in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th.
