Basketball Game Preview: Pinewood Christian Patriots vs. Brentwood War Eagles

The Pinewood Christian Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Brentwood War Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinewood Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Pinewood Christian will head into Friday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 38-point drubbing they dealt Augusta Prep Day on Friday. Pinewood Christian blew past Augusta Prep Day 42-4. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 25 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Brentwood's undefeated season came to an end after three games on Saturday. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Edmund Burke Academy. The War Eagles were up 19-5 in the first quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Pinewood Christian will have to contain Bailey Barron as she made an impact in Brentwood's last game. She posted eight points in addition to 17 boards and six blocks. With that strong performance, Barron is now averaging an impressive 2.8 blocks per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Cadence English, who put up ten points and seven rebounds.

Pinewood Christian's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-2. As for Brentwood, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Pinewood Christian lost to Brentwood on the road by a decisive 45-30 margin when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Pinewood Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
