Basketball Recap: Northwood Falls Despite Big Games from Jahari Mccoy and Landon Tinsley

Northwood and Westminster Christian Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Northwood had to settle for second. The game between the Northwood Gators and the Westminster Christian Academy Crusaders didn't end well, with the Northwood Gators falling 60-45.

Northwood's loss came despite strong showings from Landon Tinsley and Jahari Mccoy. Tinsley dropped a double-double with 21 points and 15 boards, while Mccoy posted 14 points. Northwood is 14-3 when Tinsley posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise. Brice Jackson was another key player, putting up five points.

Northwood's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points over those games. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-11 record this season.

Northwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they will take on Crescent City Christian on Tuesday.
