Soccer Recap: Anna Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three matchups, Anna finally came back down to earth on Friday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walnut Grove Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Wildcats are ranked 43rd).

Anna's goal came courtesy of Isabelle Lopez, who's now up to ten this season.

Anna's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4-1. As for Walnut Grove, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Coming up, Anna will square off against Denison at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Anna is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.1 goals per game this season. As for Walnut Grove, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Walnut Grove take on the Melissa at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
