Basketball Game Preview: Marinette Marines vs. Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes

Marinette is 2-8 against Fox Valley Lutheran since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Marinette Marines will look to defend their home court against the Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes at 7:00 p.m. Marinette will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak.

Marinette proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 52) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Wrightstown 52-50. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Marines have posted since December 28, 2023.

Meanwhile, Fox Valley Lutheran suffered their biggest loss since February 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Xavier, falling 61-37. While losing is never fun, the Foxes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Hawks are ranked 82nd).

Marinette's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

Marinette didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fox Valley Lutheran in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 43-38 win.
