Volleyball Recap: Wilmington Wildcats vs. Clifton Central Comets

With a playoff game on the line, Wilmington rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Clifton Central Comets. Winning may never get old, but the Wildcats sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Wilmington easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-7.

Rachel Smith paced Wilmington's offense, picking up seven kills. Smith got some help from Molly Southall and her 16 assists. Southall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Wilmington has been performing well recently as they've won 14 of their last 17 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-8 record this season. As for Clifton Central, they are on an 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-26.

As of now, neither Wilmington nor Clifton Central have any future games scheduled.
