Baseball Recap: Catalina Foothills Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Salpointe Catholic

Catalina Foothills faced Salpointe Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Falcons fell 8-4 to the Lancers. The Falcons were not able to make up for their loss to the Lancers from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Ganon Dwyer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run.

Catalina Foothills has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 20-6 record this season. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Salpointe Catholic, they pushed their record up to 21-4-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

As of now, neither Catalina Foothills nor the Lancers have any future games scheduled.
